How to remove yourself from Whitepages

Whitepages lists your name, address, and phone numbers. Here is how to opt out.

Whitepages's opt-out works, but expects a human step along the way, not just a single click.

How to opt out of Whitepages

  1. Search your name and city on Whitepages and open your listing. Copy the page's web address.
  2. Go to the suppression page (link below). Paste in your listing address and click "Remove Me."
  3. Pick a reason from the dropdown and continue.
  4. Enter a phone number you can answer right now — Whitepages calls or texts a code to confirm the request.
  5. Type the code from the call into the form to finish.

What Whitepages collects

Name, address, phone numbers, and an age range.

What we'd tell a friend

The phone-verification step is the awkward part. The number Whitepages calls is often the same one you're trying to remove, so keep it reachable until the call comes through. If the call never arrives, you can email support@whitepages.com with your listing address instead.

Why this can come back

Most people-search and aggregator sites re-crawl their public-record sources on a rolling basis. An opt-out removes today's listing; it doesn't stop the site from re-pulling your record the next time it refreshes. That's the reason removal is something you check on periodically, not a one-time task — see our full removal guide for the re-listing mechanics in detail.

Frequently asked questions

How long does Whitepages removal take? #
Whitepages says it processes most removals within 24 to 48 hours after you finish the phone verification. Timing can vary if the confirmation call is delayed.
Why does Whitepages need to call me? #
It uses an automated call or text to confirm you own the request. The number it calls is often the one on your listing — keep it reachable until the code comes through.
